Handmade Christmas Ornaments to Print and Color

Some of the fondest memories I have of my childhood are from making Christmas ornaments with my Mom and two sisters.  Dad was around but he wasn't very crafty so he just admired the results.

For several years, we handmade different ornaments each year.  One year we painted on wood ornaments, another on ceramic ornaments.  One year we sewed ornaments.  I think we even did some once that were some type of plastic that you painted and then baked, and they would puff up.  When I got older, I even cross-stitched some ornaments.

When my husband and I started about setting up our first real tree for our toddler, he said he used to do the same thing with his family.  So, I set out to find some craft ornaments that weren't too hard.  I went to Michael's (we don't have a Hobby Lobby in New Orleans) and didn't find much.  Most were too hard for us, 'cause I need "paint-by-number" style help to actually paint ornaments.  I did buy some foam cutouts that we had fun decorating with pictures.
