You may also wish to check out my Martin Luther King Day coloring pages- I even found a picture of President Barack Obama and Martin Luther King, Jr together, which highlights the acheivements that have been made due to Mr. King's efforts to bring basic civil rights to all Americans.

Although civics receives very little attention in schools today, as a student of history I think it is imperative that our children understand our system of government- how it came into being as well as how it functions today.

Along those lines, you will be seeing a lot of history coloring pages on my blog in the future.  I have collected tons of images on my hard drive so i just need to organize them for the website.

Next Monday, January 19, is Martin Luther King, Jr. Day.  This is a good time to remember the civil rights struggle in the United States and learn from its lessons.

Most schools will be closed for the day so this would be a great time for you to print these Martin Luther King Day coloring pages and color them in with your kids, while discussing the weighty issues they represent.

You may also want to check out my President Barack Obama coloring pages- I have showcased image in which President Obama and Mr. King are represented in the same picture.
